Music Anxiety

It seems like every few months, I cycle through my music for belly dancing. It always amazes me how I can have a totally new perspective on music I have been familiar with for years depending upon my mood, how I am dancing and the other people co-creating in the room with me. But I guess that's art--it is the emotion and the feeling that makes it.

To a certain extent, we make our own music. We are musicians and dancers all at once. Playing our zills to add an extra dimension to the music. It seems like sometimes this is the aspect with which people are most impressed. It is perhaps this aspect of Flamenco that draws; the simultaneous use of movement and accompaniment. It makes for such a dynamic performance--kinda makes me want to learn.
